Doing a little Spring Cleaning
Has anyone tried this? Do you think it's worth it or do you think it's just as bad for the environment as the regular stuff?
I'm trying to watch what I clean with but I can't spend $100 either!

Here comes Peter Cottontail
I thought this was kind of neat...
Also, I learned that if you put a little vegetable oil in the regular egg dye, you can make really cool swirly looking patterns on the eggs. AND if you use rubber bands you can make stripes! Hope you have fun making your Easter eggs this year. I haven't made any yet but hopefully I can before the big day arrives.
I'm headed to Nashville this weekend to see my FAV 5 girls from high school. I can't wait. Maybe they will want to dye Easter eggs with me. Maybe they'll think it's a cool idea... NAH, they know I'm a nerd! Hopefully I'll have some good stories and photos when I return.

Rocco's First Snow
Rocco has never seen snow. At least he hadn't until about a week ago. We woke up one morning to a glittery white covering on our yard. It wasn't much snow but when you're only about 10 inches tall like Rocco, well, it's a pretty daunting experience.
Here's how it played out...

Maybe if I just step one... paw off... oh there's a grassy patch. I'll stand there.
Omigosh it's COLD! Hurry... Hurry, find a spot to pee so I can go back inside.
So, he's not a fan of snow. Or rain for that matter. He can be quite a little dandy at times but we love him anyway!

Green Tip of the Day :: Eu De Toilets

How old are your toilets?
A: They are brand new.
B: They are antiques that came with house.
ANSWER: Any toilet made before 1994 is likely to be using a whopping 5 gallons of water per flush.
A US government mandate that began in 1995 requires that all new toilets installed in homes use no more than 1.6 gallons of water per flush. Even if your old toilets are in great shape, it's worth replacing them with a low-flow toilet. In some communities, they are collecting vitreous porcelain and crushing them down for use in roads... but those instances are rare. If you can't find a place to recycle it, send it packing to the landfill. The overall eco benefits of a water saving toilet far outweight the disposal.
Today, even greener toilets are coming to market called Dual Flush toilets, which use just .8 gallons of water or the standard 1.6 gallons. You push Button #1 when you need to flush, um, #1….and #2 when.... You get the point.

Here are some photos from our recent trip to Enid, Okahoma. Enid is Chris' mom's hometown with LOTS of childhood memories for him and his brother. Our wonderful extended family hosted a great, relaxing weekend. Thank you Buchanans and Burfords for all the hospitality and yummy FOOD! It was a much needed break. More pics here

Chocolate Pull Apart Sticky Buns
Have mercy...
Found this today on The Daily Eat and I haven't tried it but I will, Oh I will. Perhaps one day I'll post a healthy recipe. But what the heck kind of fun would THAT be??
Ingredients:
1 can of 10 small homestyle biscuits (7.5oz)
1/8 cup of granulated sugar
1 tsp. cocoa powder
2 Tbsp. butter
1 tsp. brown sugar
Method:
1. Open the can of biscuits and quarter each biscuit to make 40 pieces.
2. In a Ziploc bag, add in the granulated sugar and cocoa powder, mix well. Add in the pieces of dough, zipped it and shake well. Try to make sure each piece is coated well with the mixture.
3. Spray four mini bundt pans with butter spray. Preheat the oven to 375'F. Lay about 10 pieces of mixed dough into each bundt pan.
4. Melt the butter in the microwave and add in the leftover sugar/cocoa mixture from the Ziploc bag into the butter (if there is still any left). And add in the brown sugar, mix well until sugars dissolved. Then, spoon the mixture over the top of the arranged dough pieces (About 2 tsp. each).
5. Bake in preheated 375'F oven for 15 minutes.
~Makes 4 mini bundt size sticky buns. Serve two adults or four kids.
