Ok For Real This Time

sorry to keep everyone waiting...

If you were thinking of mailing us your pink hand-me-downs don't get in too much of a hurry because our little baby is going to be a BOY!! We're both extremely excited! Neither of us had any hunch or expectation and were all smiles on Wednesday! I've actually never seen Chris's face light up so much! For those of you that know us well, this is going to offset the balance of the Wiggins family in favor of the male gender for once. That will be something to get used to for sure. The Carreker family on the contrary is not surprised a bit considering he will be approximately the 24th boy in the family!!! We're not totally set on a name just yet but will most likely keep it under wraps until he's born anyway. Thanks again for being excited to share this big news with us!!!

tough thing to try and conceal the sex of your baby when you know it!! I can't say if we're having a boy or a girl because we're having dinner with Chris' family on Sunday night for the big reveal. Chris' dad is out of town and we want to tell them all at once. I know it's AGES away but I can't risk posting it in case someone (Megan) were to read this blog! ;o)

Most importantly, all is healthy which was our biggest prayer! Thanks to all of you who thought of us today. We had a blast!!

Prayers

My friend Taylor posted this today about a friend of ours from Auburn. Please read it and pray, pray, pray!!

"Many of you know the compton's, some were sorority sisters with katie, and others of you have just heard us talk about them a lot. well, they need our prayer. ben is a doctor, and in his 2nd year of residency. two night ago, he was stuck with an HIV needle. while, thankfully, there is only a pretty small chance he will actually contract HIV--this is still VERY scary. and there is still a chance. i know they would covet your prayers at this time. apparently ben has begun medications that will take the small chance down even further, what a blessing medicine is! but i think those meds can make him sick, so pray also that these rounds of meds will not make him sick. thank you for lifting up this sweet family."

Update

I kind of forget that you guys don't all see me every day and therefore are not up to speed on the pregnancy progress. I'm 17 weeks along and definitely have a belly going. Though I can still successfully conceal it under some shirts, my pants have started to become a little harder to deal with! We'll find out if the baby is a girl or a boy next week (wednesday) at the 18 week appointment (or at least we will if he/she cooperates)! We're working on names and have a couple that we're pretty set on but we're not telling until the baby arrives. I'm sure we won't make up our minds 100% until like the DAY before or something.

We just got back from a trip to the Bahamas. It was so fantastic and I'll try to get the photos up soon, no doubt there will be more than a few "bump" photos for you to gaze at!

In other news...the BFF is coming to visit tomorrow with her sweet family and I can't wait! Courtney, Kyle, Paxton & Caitlin are all coming to Dallas until Monday. Who knows what kind of adventures we might have. I'll fill you all in next week though.

We also sold our house and will be closing on June 30. Needless to say we have a lot going on right now. We still don't have another house but we do have a benevolent father-in-law who has graciously allowed us to move in with him until we find our next home. We have to start packing it up in the next couple of weeks! Man, did I mention that I HATE moving.

Don't I got some pretty peeps?? Even though there are only 6 of us, we're rarely all in the same place at the same time so this was a fun trip and we ended up getting some good pictures of everyone. My dad took them... talented huh?
