Faith Blogs

If you have a minute, please check this out. Maybe this is old news but WHOA NELLY I'm sure glad I found it! I'm excited to keep up and be encouraged & challenged in my walk with Christ.

I started working on a painting for my house last night. I stayed up painting until midnight. (Yes, I'm crazy because my infant son still wakes every 3 hrs.) Nonetheless... I was grateful for that time and recharged my creative brain for a little while. Sometimes my creativity gets lost or stuffed away in the all-too-busy job of motherhood but as i painted and listened to music last night, I remembered that I can (and SHOULD) find time to do the things that make me... me.

I want to post a photo of the painting for advice and some help on a decorating question soon...

Grammy Highlight

For those who didn't see the Grammy's or went to take a shower during this part, I give you possibly the most entertaining moment of the whole show. Gwyneth gets props for singing better than most of the musicians who performed and doing so IN THOSE SHOES no less.

John Mayer needs to wash his hair and shave. Anybody hear me?

Happy Tuesday

It was ICEE!!

And no... not the yummy frozen kind that pours out of the machine flavored with sweet syrupy goodness! It was ICY at our HOUSE. All of Dallas really and thus, I was home with the boys and no outings, save one desperate trip to Target, for 4 days. Here's a rundown:

We wore PJ's 99% of the time. I think the boys took 2 baths in 4 days. Cohen only so that means I'm not sure Rett had one at all. It was below freezing from Tuesday until Saturday. NOTHING melted. It was just a solid sheet of ice outside and the temp hovered, at times, around 4 degrees. We couldn't even really play in it. While confined to our icy indoor shackles, we made a fort, snow ice cream, did some (very brief) potty training, jumped on a mattress-made-trampoline, made valentines, froze outside popsicles. Thursday mommy was hit with a cold virus the likes of which she hasn't seen in a WHILE. This detail did not make for an easy end to the week but we made it through unscathed and (barely) alive. Thursday night though, Old Man Winter dumped 6" on us. Yes Cohen... NOW you may play!

Hope you are warm and cozy this Monday! We've got dry roads and blue skies. I'm smiling.

Geez Loiuse

Yeah, yeah, it's been a while...now lets get down to business.

First I'd like to report that our 2 year old can/will finally SAY his own name. That's right, up until last night in the tub I had never heard my son say his name. He can say the name of pretty much everyone in our family but not his. No M'am. You see, he's been at day school since he was 1 where they have affectionately taken to calling him CoCo. I didn't mind (and still don't) but it stuck. IT STUCK GOOD. Anyway, last night he finally did it and here's the proof.

Some other things I like and thought you might. This is in case I still have ANYONE out there who reads this. Besides my mom and sister who I talk to on a regular basis and actually don't NEED to read this blog but do anyway to humor me.

I really like her bangs and headbands

I think I could get lost on this site

I've been trying this. I broke the record today because its friday and we wear jeans to work but until now it had been 11 days. I think I'll keep going. It's kinda fun.

And I'm outta here. It's supposed to be 75 degrees tomorrow and the zoo has reduced prices (hooray!). It's that or the Ft. Worth Stock Show & Rodeo. You tell me...

true words

I ready this today on a blog I frequent and ~holycanoli~ it sums up how I've been feeling some days lately. Through it all I'm trying to stop, breathe, and enjoy my oh so fleeting Christmas moments with my babies though...

"You don't need to test me. I'm watching you. And I hope that you were not watching me because you might think getting mad and losing your mind is the answer. Oh, wait - YOU ALREADY DO. Sorry. You might get that from me and for that I apologize. In fact, I apologize for the way I acted . Sorry for the yelling. Sorry for the lack of patience. Sorry for not taking into consideration that you are a headstrong little mynx and if you weren't - half your magic would be missing. I am not proud. I am not certain I will never yell again, but I know without a shred of doubt that those who have the biggest share of my heart - deserve more patience + love. For even when my patience is thin... my love is thick and truly."

Yes Elmo I KNOW my vest looks big but I'm taking my vitamins and you always need some growing room right?
