Sir-Eats-Alot (3 months old)

taken on February 20, 2009--3 month birthday

Here he is in all his chubby glory! I love it!
Oh and these are new jeans-- he's already grown out of the ones in the 2 month photo!

Oh, and disregard his bloody nub of a finger in the top photo-- yes, I cut him while trimming his miniscule fingernails. Not once, TWICE. I'm the #1 Mom

money honey

have you heard of money saving mom? Click here to visit the site. I'm thinking I might be a frequent visitor considering that I've decided 2009 is the year of eating at home more often and saving money wherever I can!

it flies.. it really does!

time that is.

I've been reading some sad things on various blogs lately that break my heart and make me want to hug my baby tighter. I don't want to get into it right now. But then I read things like this and think, how true. Our boy has changed a lot this week and it makes me both want to smile and cry at the same time. He'll never "not know" how to roll over again or do a little push-up. I'm trying so hard to reach and catch it all as it goes flying by but I simply don't have the arm space.

Oh and the cake was a HIT... well worth the 5 finger discount!

dang you darbs and your irresistable cake

Well here we go...

I went to the grocery store today for hotdog buns. We're having hotdogs tonight. It's not glamorous but it works for us.

BUNS, I told myself, nothing more since we're watching the budget. Then I thought about this post from Darby's blog yesterday and how I'd like to treat my huband to a yummy dessert when he got home. So I strolled on over to the cookie aisle and got my ingredients.

Sparing some additional boring details... when I got to the car I realized the cookies were in the bottom of the cart under Cohen's carrier and I had failed to scan them when I checked out.

Did I...
a) recoil in horror that I had just STOLEN something, turn around and go back in to pay for them
b) toss them carelessly into the back seat of the car

Let's just say I'm glad Cohen isn't able to comprehend thievery yet and I'll probably deservingly choke on my cake tonight. Sorry Mom and Dad- you taught me better, but it's still Darby's fault though.

credit where credit is due

I feel the need to proclaim to the blogging community that I have the most thoughtful mother on the planet. Due to her forethought and planning, I have an 11 week old son for whom I've never had to buy a SINGLE DIAPER!

Well what's covering his bum you ask?

Diapers that SHE bought for him in Memphis and brought to Dallas months before he was even born. I've got a stockpile that I figure will last me well into his 3rd month of life. Believe it people... it's true. Love you Mom- thanks!
